Fire Department

The Florence Fire Department was established in 1890. The 35 members are an All Risk Agency providing fire protection, emergency medical service and rescue. This highly trained and dedicated volunteer group answers over 700 calls a year.

Police Department

The Florence Police Department is located on the North Entrance of City Administration Building, 600 West 3rd Street.

The Florence Post Office is located in it’s historic building at 121 South Pikes Peak Avenue.

The library is one of the busiest places in town. The staff offers educational and entertaining events for all ages. Daytime and evening programs include lectures, art exhibits, classes and things we couldn’t imagine. The library strives to stay up to date with technology and learning resources making it a true cultural asset to the community.

The Florence Schools service the entire east end of Fremont County including the communities of Williamsburg, Coal Creek, Rockvale, Penrose and Wetmore. All students attend the Florence High School, home of the ’Huskies’, located in the beautiful new building just north of town.
